DECK HYDRAULIC CRANE MORINI

N 16 crane has been designed for use on deck of ships for various employments. Hereunder are some types of applications of N 16 crane:

- fishing vessels
- oil tankers
cargo ships
tugboats
- research ships

The N 16 crane is built to be used with one operator and has the great advantage not to be encumbering when in rest position.

Capacity

The crane has a capacity of 2 Tons in every position due to the winch power in direct pull.

Slewing

The slewing is actuated by rack and pinion in oil-bath on ball bearings with an angle of 3600 not continuous. The crane can work with a ship heeling of 6".

Base

The base is welded carpentry, with slewing control incorporated, may contain the oil tank (if specified in the order). Base building is foreseen to be bolted to the seat located on deck.

Boom and extensions

The boom is box-type rectangular section with double proportional telescopic movement of the boom is obtained by internal jack and changes the horizontal range from 4.50 m to 9.50 m.

The boom works from 10' under horizontal to 66' above horizontal line.

The terminal part of the boom is predisposed for the employment with cable in direct pull only.

Winch

The winch is hydraulically operated by an engine with reducer and brake incorporated; the assembly is watertight.

Standard winch has a drum with a maximum capacity of 90 m wire with a diameter of 14 mm.

On request may be applied micro-contacts for wire stop limit.

Hydraulic system

The hydraulic system is operated by two pumps of different sizes according requested operating speed. Jacks, double acting, have chromium plated and rectified rods, are equipped with safety valves self- operated.

Lever type controls are used with spring self centring system. The control group is located on the revolving turret with operator seat or, if requested, in other position and with remote control system.

Maximum working pressure is fixed at 180 Kg/cm2. The Hydraulic system of the crane is equipped on overpressure, by-pass, and safety valves preventing every movement in case of breakage of the flexible pipe. The hydraulic system is constructed to provide efficient loss of heat that guarantees long life for oil and retain rings.

Crane weight

Total weight of crane, controls installed on revolving turret is of 4400 Kg, without oil.

Test

N 16 crane has passed RINA official tests.
